Experience 
Tengku Hasmuddin has extensive experience in the areas of corporate commercial law and Islamic banking and finance. His key interest, however, is in Islamic banking and finance. His involvement in this area began with the inception of the first Islamic bank in Malaysia, as a pioneer legal counsel responsible for developing the structural framework for documentation relating to Islamic banking products. He continues to play an active role in the development of Islamic finance in Malaysia and his consultancy is much sought after by clients and industry players.

Tengku Hasmuddin is frequently invited to present talks on Islamic finance and has delivered the keynote address at a conference on the secondary Islamic financial market jointly organized by the Accounting and Auditing Organisation for Islamic Financial Institutions and the World Bank. As well as being a member of the law review main committee for Islamic banking and finance transactions of the Central Bank of Malaysia and an advisor to the Association of Banking Institutions of Malaysia, he also sits on the task force committee of Islamic Finance for Labuan International Offshore Centre, Malaysia. In addition to being active in legal practice, Tengku Hasmuddin also manages both of the Firm’s offices, located in Petaling Jaya and Seremban.

Sulaiman Osman

Experience 
Prior to being admitted to the Malaysian Bar, Sulaiman had begun his professional life as a banker during which he gained an insight into the workings of the banking sector. Such experience has proved invaluable to his area of practice which focuses on providing specialist advice on a variety of banking documentation for bridging and syndicated loans, project financing and other aspects of corporate banking. Sulaiman is also actively involved in the preparation of security documentation in relation to large developments and property related transactions.

Experience 
Hamdan joined the firm in January 2002, after having worked in a local bank in various legal capacities. His area of practice focuses on corporate and commercial law. He has attended to numerous mergers and acquisitions as well as restructuring exercises involving financial institutions, public listed companies and private companies. Hamdan has also acted as the main counsel in privatisation matters and in legal due diligence investigations related to various acquisitions and debt and capital market exercises.

Helmi Hamzah

Experience 
Helmi joined the firm as an Associate in 2004 and was made a Partner of the Firm in 2008. He currently helms the Civil Litigation, Retail and Syariah Practice Groups. Helmi has been representing clients in litigation for more than 20 years, including matters involving Islamic law disputes. He has handled several claims worth over RM1 billion each and has appeared in all levels of courts, including the High Court of Sabah & Sarawak at Labuan. His clients include the Chief Minister of Terengganu, the State Government of Terengganu, local authorities, statutory bodies, government-owned companies, government-linked companies and financial institutions. In addition, Helmi was also part of a team together with Hamdan, another senior partner of the Firm, involved in reviving Malaysia’s largest abandoned housing project.

Muslin has extensive experience in the areas of capital market, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate restructuring.

She has been involved in various corporate exercises involving Bursa Malaysia and led due diligence exercises in respect of acquisitions and capital market transactions. She has also advised clients on corporate conveyancing and construction matters.

Since his admission to the Malaysian Bar in 2015, Ezwar has successfully handled many contentious matters for his clients in the areas of civil, commercial and corporate litigation. In addition to his active role in court advocacy, he also advised on arbitration disputes.

Siti Zurairah commenced her legal career in 2008 and her experience extends to working in both private practice and as in-house legal counsel specialising in banking and finance (Islamic finance & conventional), general corporate and conveyancing. She has also worked for a regional law firm in the United Kingdom specialising in conveyancing within the Islamic finance group. 

She primarily advises on matters relating to Islamic financial services, particularly in respect of the Islamic banking products, services, operations and regulatory requirements across all business segments from retail, wholesale, investment, treasury, capital markets, debt market to asset management.

Her clients include local and foreign financial institutions whom she has advised on various corporate financing exercises and investments structures. Apart from banking and finance, she was also involved in advising various takaful operators on regulatory reforms arising from the Islamic Financial Services Act 2013.
